Mindfulness is….

Two types of awareness:
Focus - Narrow awareness focused on one thing (concentration, attention)
Breadth - Broader/wider awareness (taking it all in as it’s happening, watching thoughts, emotions, feelings)

This book is the natural accompaniment book to this course and a book I recommend you use during or after finishing the Mindfulness for Singers course. It comes with a free CD of meditations (they’re also available online on YouTube).

This book is written by the originator of modern mindfulness, Jon Kabat-Zinn. It will explain about mindfulness, how to incorporate it into your life and has lovely meditations in it.
“Mindfulness for creativity: Adapt, create and thrive in a frantic world” by Danny Penman. Published by Piatkus. Amazon link.
This is an accompanying book to “Mindfulness: Finding peace in a frantic world” book above. It has a 4-week course geared towards those interested in creative persuits.
“Mindfulness based cognitive therapy for dummies” by Patrizia Collard. Published by John Wiley & Sons. Amazon link.
This book is useful if you want a more CBT approach to your mindfulness. Maybe something that is targeted more to helping with depression and anxiety which is brought in earlier in this 8-week course.
